Vice President Kathy Boone read a letter from Mike Cruse thanking everyone for their participation at the Show-me Rally & our Marble Run. Surdyke Yamaha held their Annual Ride & Barbeque on June 13th. Some members of 437 attended this event & volunteered to barbeque. A tip jar at the barbeque yielded $120.57 in donations for our chapter. Sam & others at Surdyke were very pleased to have us there & invited us to move our meetings back to their facility. We will take a vote on this proposal at our next meeting.
Sergeant at Arms Dennis Ottman: Nothing to report at this time.
LOS Rep Peggy Cruse: Welcomed visitors Bill Enloe & Dick Stephens to our meeting. Wished Happy Birthday to members having May & June birthdays: DJ, Steve, & Diane. Wished Happy Anniversary to Becky & Fergie, Don & Judy, Wayne & Sandy, Steve & Diane, and Mike & Peggy.
We collected 150 canned goods from our Marble Run. The chapter received a thank you note from the food pantry for the donations. We have 102 prizes left from the Marble Run which we will use in September at the Surdyke Marble Run.
There is an incorrect phone number for the National Star Office in our chapter pamphlets. The correct number is 1-800-422-1041.

Wind Riders Chapter #437
Festus, MO
July 10, 2010
Meeting Minutes
The July meeting was called to order by President Mike Cruse at
3:20 p.m. on July 10, 2010 at Ryans Restaurant, in Festus, MO. The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Report of Officers
President Mike Cruse: Had two things to discuss. First, he felt it was too hot for us to hold the meeting at BT & T, and had thought it best for us to move to Ryans today.
Second: unfortunately things just didn’t seem to be working out at BT & T. He proposed that we move our meetings back to Surdyke Yamaha. Matt Surdyke understands there were some issues in the past, but he wants us back 100%. The old shop has been transformed into a showroom. It is air conditioned. We can leave our tables & everything there. Mike honestly believes the past problems were communication problems. He had a new tire put on his bike there today. The service advisor, sales personnel, everyone was very welcoming today, a different atmosphere. They us see us putting forth the effort to be a part of them, so they genuinely want to be a part of us. It had been Surdykes idea to put out a tip jar at their Annual Ride & Barbeque, with all tips to go to our chapter. Mike asked for everyone’s opinions on moving back there. The group voted unanimously to move our meetings back to Surdyke.
Don Kaiser said he would like for Matt & some others from Surdyke to be at our meeting so everyone can meet them.
Our next meeting will be back at Surdykes on August 21st at 10:30 am. Mike will pick up our tables and other items from BT & T after Star Days.
Vice President Kathy Boone: For anyone planning to ride to Star Days with Dave & Kathy, please let her know. They will leave from the Perryville Super 8 Friday morning at 8:00. She will send an email to everyone traveling with her, to provide a list of the hotels where we will be staying during the trip.
Sergeant at Arms Dennis Ottman: Will be bringing the chapter banner to Star Days.
LOS Rep Peggy Cruse: Wished Happy Anniversary to Bob & Brenda, Don & Jerfeshan, and Bob & Connie. Anyone going to the Chrome show will meet at QT at Meramec Bottom Rd. at 10:00, followed by Breakfast at Cracker Barrel, then on to Maryville, IL for the Chrome Show with Chapter 275.
Vet Rep Dave Boone: Thank you to everyone who was able to go to Cabool.
Tin Stars Rep Bob Scott: Unable to attend
Secretary Shelia Ottman: June Minutes are available & posted on the website.
Old Business
Tip Jar: Kathy gave the proceeds from the tip jar at Surdykes to Don Kaiser.
Show Me: Receipts from the Show Me Rally were turned in.
New Business
Fergy informed us of a lady in Chapter 275 who crochets blankets. He suggested that we might want to purchase one to raffle off. She will be at the Chrome Show if we are interested in seeing some of her work. We could draw for the blanket at our Christmas party.
Charity: Kathy proposed that we adopt a permanent charity. She suggested that we adopt Camp Hope. It is a hunting camp that is being built for veterans. We can find out more information on Camp Hope’s website.
Troops: The family of a deceased serviceman has requested that supplies be sent to the service men & women in his company in his honor. Our servicemen & women have many needs for basic hygiene items, supplies, magazines, etc. Will get more info on what we can send & how to go about it.
