Mike Cruse proposed that we change the time and location for our meetings beginning in February. Bob Scott found an available location in Festus, at Bikes, Trikes & Trailers. This location would provide a more quiet atmosphere with space available for us to store tables, chairs, and misc items to be used during our meetings. The newly proposed meeting time is

The new time and location for the meetings was approved by a show of hands.

Nadine proposed that we display our small chapter banner in the new location to gain more publicity & exposure for local Star Chapter 437. She also suggested that we leave pamphlets/flyers there as well. Racks are available at this location for this purpose. The group agreed this was a good idea.

Lee will check into getting another small banner to display at Surdykes if they agree to do so.

Brenda has designed a brochure for Chapter 437 and is checking into printing options.

 Fundraising Discussions

Chapter 437 Marble Run:  This is a charity event. Mike posed the question: “What organization are we doing this benefit for?”

Nadine suggested the Ozark Food Pantry. Sandy suggested the Desoto Food Pantry. Thoughts in favor of the Ozark Food Pantry included its more widespread service to the Jefferson County Area. Also the advertising of the event in The Leader would promote the event to a broader area.

Mike made a motion for the fundraiser to benefit the Ozark Food Pantry. It was seconded by Brenda.

The event is scheduled to be held May 1 out of Bikes, Trikes, & Trailers, with a rain date of May 8. Registration is from

The event is open to all bikes.

First hand is $5. Each additional hand is $2 + 2 canned food items.

Don Mullins asked about getting a letter written up to present to businesses when seeking donations for prizes for this event. Sandy Moore agreed this was a good idea. Brenda has a letter that can be modified for this purpose. She will write up a letter to present when requesting donations.

Dave Boone will obtain a donation from O’Reilly’s.

More details to follow.
